Just changed the fuel pump relay.  (Got the part for £6 at BMW - cheaper than Euro & GSFC who had no stock).

After reading a thread about hesitation and some poor performance on a Volvo site (I have a C70 T5 as well lol) someone mentioned the fuel pump relay when the subject of fuel starvation came about.

After changing mine today, there was a noticebale difference, the car revs up much more strongly and cleanly through the rev range, without any hesitations during throttle changes and instant throttle inputs etc.  If anyone else has simialr problems it may be worth giving this one  atry yourselves!

Starfury - I looked through on realoem.com but couldn't seem to find it hence why I then asked on here.

BMWCARE - thankyou very much for the information.  I will be replacing my relay tomorrow.

Very simple to change - it's No1 in the picture.
This is the underbonnet fusebox.

Can anyone tell me where I can find my fuel pump relay on a E36 97' 328i?

Also, is changing the fuel pump relay a straight forward job for DIY?
