   Hi i have a 1997 540 touring with a head light fault.The fault is that the off side front flickers and then some times goes out but main beam is ok. When it does go out it will always come on if i switch them off and back on again. I cant see any bad conections but was going to swap the bulbs over to check them. The fittings do not look the same at the rear conections so does any one know if they are the same ? I am a electronics engineer so well use to 25Kv supply. This fault does not always show up and the two front lamps look different colours. The faulty side has a pink tint is this normal?. I know these lamps have a long life but how do you know when they are going ?. The Dash display then says CHECK LOW BEAM LIGHTS . This my first BMW and i think this is a fantastic car.
