i have a compact 318 ti sport i can get LOWERING SPRINGS from a E36 MODEL (WERE ON A 318IS ), 2nd hand

would these go onto my compact ??

Not sure, it's the rear you want to look out for as its derived from an E30 and is lighter than normal E36.

Have a look at an on line parts catalogue, like Demon Tweeks etc. usually tells you what item is for what model.

FWIW, according to my Eibach traders catalogue, based on the E36 models, the 318is has a different rear axle loads.  As a result, all the suspension kit options, springs, shocks etc have different part numbers, so I would therefore say no is the answer to your question.

(A set of lowering spring kits by Boge for example from GSFCP are fairly inexpensive, bought a Boge Turbo spring kit for a customers car for about 75)
