will try to explain all the symptoms as best I can.

Before I do that I will confirm that the Battery is a new BMW item and it is putting out 12.5v and is charging at 14v with everything I can think of switched on. So I think I can safely eliminate the Battery and Alternator.

So on to the symptoms.....

It started last week when the radio suddenly cut out, the time display also disappeared. At the same time the turn signal indication on the dash and the sound stopped working, even for the hazard lights. BTW the indicators still work fine.

All fuses seem ok. If I turned the ignition off and on then the radio came on again but I couldn't change channels or adust the volume.

When I went back to the car 10 hours later everything worked fine !!!!

That was late last week and tomorrow it reoccurred only for about 2 hours into the journey the turn indicators worked fine and the radio came back but at different times it was variable if I could control it or not. This was all WITHOUT switching the ignition off or on.

Finally the self leveling light is on o the dash but it seems to be working ok.

Well that is the end of the symptoms. So far everything else is working fine.

I think it might be the ignition switch but having thoughts that it might be a relay or specific control unit. I have tried to work out what relays control this but can't isolate which apply.

Thanks for reading and I hope you can help.

Thanks
