hopefully someone maybe able to help me, my eldest scratched my car with steel studs while climbing on it, i was reading somewhere that when using the scratch repair pens that you have to sand down and buff up, is this true and how difficult

also would a clay car take a ball scuff off the car

Any pic of the scratch?

Clay wont take out a scuff, as clay is used to remove bonded contaminents from the paint

Is the scratch through the clearcoat? If not it can almost certainly be wet-sanded out and polished back up from there....

Where abouts in Surrey are you? I could take a look if you like...

As mentioned, please get a photo up on here....

Cheers - Nick.

the scrape went thru to the primer, son had steel stud football boots, its the v shape mark, used the halfords pens and there is a slightly ugly mark from the repair, first timer.

the ball scuff is at my finger.

dont mind spending time at it as it will be useful in future.

im in dublin by the way Nick

Dublin! - I see - I was confusing your wherabout with those of Brian!

I suggest:

1. re-spray

2. Childs gets no pocket money or prezzies for a couple of years and does ironing for the same amount of time!

Nick.

We sell everything you need to sort scratches in clearcoat.

I would normally sand the defect out using P2000 daisies and then a rotary polisher using Prometheus PS205CC then Prometheus PS250 anti-hologram final polish with a random orbital....

Please pm me or contact us through the site (pro-detailing) if you'd like any more advice....

Thanks - Nick.
