£149!!

It's just an angle grinder with an orbit cam on it!

You are cheaper buying the Porter Cable one.  By the time you have paid for the additional pads you would be up to the same price for the PC from the interweb that come with the transformers and all the kit.  Besides you would still be able to use the transformer for other things!

Think I'll get a PC, which at least has been proved to work.

A PC is about $160 = £80 and you will get it shipped over for £20 and you can get a transformer for about £40.  Still less than the Megs one.

I was just thinking that!

If it was around £80 all-in then I would consider one but not at that price.

At the end of the day you only really need it once to correct any faults then you can polish by hand.

Better off paying one of the experts to do it. Safer too!

Is the UK megs one not just a porter cable rebranded.

The one I have is.  And the UK one more than likely will be the same.  Its a portercable 7424.  The instructions were by portercable but had a Meguiars logo printed on it.

All in all your paying for the pleasure of not using a 110v transformer.  Which tbh isnt that much of a pain if you have the long flex attachment for the 110v transformer.

But I agree.  I got mine for 180 shipped with pads, bag, meguiars speed glaze, clay, swirl remover and pads :D plus a megs bag to keep it in.
