Can anyone advise if foam guns are any good or is it just for show?

Is there any benefit in leaving the shampoo on the car for a length of time?

Anyone suggest where I can get one if they are any good?

The theory behind them is that the crud and crap is floated away from the paintwork, only problem ive ever had is that they strip a lot of wax and polish off unless you use the same make and brand as your polish.

Im sure someone will be along in a minute to agree with me or argue with me on this.biggrin

Yeah I would use Meguiars car wash when using the three step Megs polish.

Not Fairy liquid that's for sure!

I have the AB foam lance and use snow foam thru it The soap is designed not to affect your wax or they would not sell it as well as they do

Fill botle up with warm water

Foam car and leave to stand till foam has fallen off basically (Not in hot weather tho)

The dirt falls off with foam leaving a much better surface to wash by hand to help reduce adding defects to paint

It wont clean a car on it`s own,but is a great item to use if you have a jet wash

This is what i do with mine

If the car is not really dirty i tend to add a little bit of my normal shampoo in the mix to add that extra gloss finish

Best £40 i have spent

Pete

Where did you get it from?

Can you use it on a power washer as well as a garden hose?

You will ge a AB foam lance Autobrite direct http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/ this can only be used with a power washer, but if you have a garden hose you could get a Gilmour foam gun from http://www.polishedbliss.co.uk/acatalog/pb119wash.html

When I've got plenty time, i use the AB foam lance with the Karcher, & if i have less time I use the Gilour foam gun with the garden hose, both are used with a mix of snow foam & Megs Hyperwash, which is designed NOT to strip the wax & polish off, as Pete says, this will not wash the car on it's own (though very nearly does) & gives you a good easy clean by hand after.
