What is the website where you can enter in the chassis number and get the date of manufacture. I think I have seen it talked about on the site before.

If you go to www.realoem.com/bmw/select.do
and enter in the last 7 digits of your VIN it will return something like (for my 523i): You Have Selected: P E39 Lim 523i M52 ECE 19970200 R M The 19970200 part is YYYY-MM-dd. I think the day part is not included as my old E30 is: You Have Selected: P E30 4-T 320i M20 ECE 19880900 R M edit: there is another site which gives this info but I don't remember the address.
