Dave Vauxhalls suffer from ICV's getting blocked up. I stripped out and cleaned the ICV on my 3.0i 24V Senator. What you need is a can of Wynnes Carb and Fuel injector cleaner. £5 from Halfrauds for a 500ml spay tin, tin is purple and it is really effective. Definately worth doing. Andrew |

The idle control valve is usually a form of bypass between the air filter and the inlet manifold/throttle body.
The exact location will depend on the engine type but this may help... http://82.34.52.15/sytemsandsoftwaredevelopment/systems/auto motive/How_to/General/ecotecidlevalve.htm |

Has anyone ever heard of the idle control valve and is it on most makes of cars. I spotted on another forum that they are present up to 97 on the e39 and cleaning them can improve the performance and stop the car being sluggish. The reason I want to know is that my wifes Zafira is sluggis at llow revs and can then shoot forward for no reason. TIA Dave |
