also a bentley 5 series manual for the e34 would be helpful i consider mine a bible when it comes to working on the 540.... good luck

Make sure the water pump has a metal impeller and also take care when bleeding the coolant after a fill, can take a while to get rid of all the air.

I just bought a 1990 520i. I know it needs a head gasket , water pump I,ll do the timing belt as well . probably needs head skimmed. Any one out there got any good tips/advice before i get started. i,m looking to do a good job on this car. |
