Has anyone had any experience with wiring external security lights? I have a rough idea, the only thing bothering me is running the cable through the wall and to a socket or a switch while remaining in the wall and out of view. Can anyone shed any light on doing this...pardon the pun!!! Website maybe? |

You could get a metal pipe to protect the exposed parts of the cable - B&Q should have them.
The cable should enter the light from below to stop water entering. Personally I would drill from the inside outwards an inch or two from the existing socket but then again I don't know how visible it is inside or outside so I don't know what way the protective pipework (or just cable on its own) would appear. Also drilling inwards could result in hitting the existing cables/socket screwholes/etc. Either way keep the cables route in straight lines with any angles at 90degrees to avoid it looking out of place. |
