I feel your pain Ian, so many times i've tweaked my back cleaning the lower regions of a lowered car.

"send the wife" .. no fear!

i'd never ask my wife to do such a thing, i'd just phone her at work, she's branch manager for a local family buisness .. which take's in 5 grocery stores

Doctor ruled me out of work due to me walking on steel & concrete flooring and i'm up and down metal stairway's all day (dunno how i'm the size i am?) i wouldn't like to think i'd get that sort of treatment from my employer/managers due to my above average time keeping 18+yr's and only 5 day's sick .. sone be 9!  but they have "warned" folk in the past about being out when they called in sick, supose it may be down to the reason they called in sick with?

Thats crap news mate, you did look in pain.

The rules of your work are absolutely uninforcable, everybody has the right to free movement and if your doctor recons you're not able to be at work or that the work you do may aggrivate the injury, its his / her decision to sign you off in your best interest.

How else would you be able to get the shopping etc, don't go down the "send the wife" route, thats sexist and she can have you done for that.

Dont you just love a PC world !!

i was just telling Cambell at the meet yesterday about when i was applying tyre gell yesterday morning and as i stood up from my crouched position my knee gave a kind of locking feeling, followed by a "click" sound then to be followed by PAIN!

last night was murder ... lucky if i slept 45 min's all night, went to my GP this morning, followed by an X-ray to be told ive got a chipped peice of bone, from either my knee cap or cartlige floating about the rear area of my knee cap .. he signed me off work for a week and told me if it's no better by thursday then i may need a small operation to remove the small floating bone

1st ive ever been signed of work and the first time in 6 yrs that ive even had 1 sick-day

and the rule's of my work are that if you are seen outside while on sick leave then you are well enough to be at your work! (unless your on a doctor/hospital visit) ..

I'M A PRISIONER IN MY OWN HOME!!!

PS, my Knee is f-e-k'n killin me
