should have it tonight or tomorrow

i went and seen it on sunday night, straight after Loudoun ... i wanted it there and then but he wouldn't sell it until he had seen to getting the car:all new brake's & pad's, 100% check from Mitsubishi, MOT, Tax, Service then he was putting in to Hannah's for a full check over of the alarm and imob .. he wanted all that work carried out due to the car being sat parked for 13 mth's in his rather large heated garage. he was also looking for quit a big price for the car but after a little bit of to's & froe's we decided to meet in the middle of his price and my price, at the end of the day the price is very fair as the work he is having done will be at least £600, ive been doing my homework and it look's very much that this is the only saloon version of SUPER VR4 in the UK, there are 3/4 Estate (Legnum) version's  also the price we settled on is apparently a little under the value.

i'll post better pic's of it (if i'm allowed) once i have it.

Andrew it's not as quick as my impreza "that realy is stupidly & scarily quick"

the car was first reg'd in ireland so it's kinda it's origonal number. the selles has say's he has only covered 60 mile's in it in the past 18+mth's and it's had no mot or tax on it for the past 16 mths, the seller (i could name him but i'd rather not .. he's a very well know buisness man in europe and the UK) .. he has a private collection of rare Bently's, Porches & the VR4 .. he say's the VR4 blow's the door's off most of his collection!

VR4 drive train: they are built to be 50/50 but on dyno run's the show to be more like 55% to the rear and 45% to the front.

Nice find Ian.

That will be scarily quick.

What's the power split/torque ratio between front and rear.  It looks like the engine is mounted transversely.

I think I have seen that out and about in the east end of town, ties in with it being in Wishaw, it is the no. plate too that looks familiar.  Are you getting the plate also.  Non dating Northern Irish plate, keeps folk guessing how old it is.

there are 2 main edition's of VR4, 1 is a S-type and one a V-type, one has 260 BHP and the other 280 BHP both can be in either a saloon or estate, Super VR4's have exclusive touche's such as: body kit, wheel's, exhaust, red interiour and Recaro sport's seating (all though the same seat's could be added to any VR4 when ordering new) as far as the club for VR4's can tell there are less than 5 super editions in the UK. only 500 where ever built

some folk say the intake on a Super VR4 is larger to allow a better fuel/air mix and that they are up on BHP than a standard 280 BHP car?? but some folk think the engine power is just the same as a standard VR4?

Ian very nice mate I hope you manage to get it.

a question what's the difference between a VR4 and a super VR4 apart from the exclusivity

Alpina did a limited edition 360hp twin turbo saloon 18 years ago.  It probably won't compete with the Mitz on a hill climb but it will wipe any Jap car on a high speed run and the five occupants could still hold a conversation at 180mph.

like i say's it was on ebay, the car is in wishaw, ive spoke to the owner and he's away till monday so i'll have to wait till then

the good stuff: 1998, 2.5 twin turbo, 4WD, anti YAW, traction control, stability control, 41K mile's (63K kms) 1 UK owner and he has only covered 60 mile's in it over the past 18 mth's! just had all belt's changed and major service and will be sold with full MOT & Tax. it's a very hard car to price but i can only try him for what i think it's worth.

i took one of these round castle combe a few yrs back, 2cm of standing water on the whole track and the car would not step out (well not to much) the anti YAW control on mitsubishi's is an amazing bit of kit. the power delivery in these VR4's is every bit as smooth as any other car out there, not as quick as my impreza but it wouldn't take long for a VR4 to pass a scooby at silly speed's and quite a bit more reliabile than a scooby

i'll tell more once either ive seen it or i own it
