I think the "The Funtioning Alchoholic" should drink less and take some spelling lessons!
As for the car; a bit too Saab 9-3 estate in the roofline and no Winkelhof kink. but other than that I think it's OK... Edit: I blame Audi; why is it that so many people believe that there is something inherently desirable in four-wheel drive? Extra weight, consumption and complication for a system that few will get any benefit from; it would not take much to get any X-series stuck in some wet grass! Without locking diffs and transfer-boxes and road tyres they are quite useless - and how many will even see that level of "off-roading"? I have seen, particularly in the US, drivers of 4x4's driving, especially in wet or frosty conditions, as if their cars/truck/vans were above the laws of physics; they're not! I have yet to drive a front-wheel drive car that does not suffer from torque-steer and all the cars I have owned have been rear-wheel drive; please BMW, do what you do best. Edited by larzyh |

ivanovoitch - at least the spelling has been corrected!
As for the concept; many people seem to like sitting up higher and, having just put on H&R Sport springs on my car, I can understand the people who prefer something softer with a little more clearance. As for the car; it's probably quite good, like most (all?) other BMW's. I just expressed having an issue with people buying into 4x4 because they think they're universally safer or better handling. |

I was driving a POS Grand Cherokee V8 in Boston back in Feb on the highway during a heavy snowfall(visibility was very poor & you couldn't even make out the road markings). I was doing about 50mph(and feeling I was going way too fast for the conditions), yet I was being passed by some SUV drivers doing 70+ while on the phone and with no lights on - total invincibility syndrome..... |

I think you'll find it is a Hoffmeister Kink... I saw photos of the yellow taxi X1 & thought it was mank. Then I saw some photos of it in Pheonix Yellow from a few different angles &, while it still isn't conventially good looking (as is the norm with BMW), it did look alot better. Edited by T.J. |

woa woa woa.... just clicked the link Ivan - why are you posting imagined pictures when the actual concept is out? Also, the imagined article looks more cohesive than the reality!

T.J. Thank you for the correction! Winkelhof is the racing driver, yes? A rather embarrassing error on my part!
