Is it still at Fairbairns?

Do you know what's wrong with it?

I sort of know what you mean, I went without my own car for 9 long long weeks while waiting for my insurance company to coff up.

I was about 26 before I even bought a car, being away approx 9  months of the year doing 10 day trips on a trawler, I didn't see the need for one really, it was always party time when I was at home, & taxis were relativley cheap in those days!

But nowadays, even when my car is in for just a service, I can't wait to get it back, even though I don't use it very much. It's jst nice to know it's there when needed, I can understand how you are feeling now Alan.

Na.  Its not in Fairbairns anymore.  I pulled it out.  They didnt seem to confident working on it and I didnt have much confidence in them either

After sending me home with the same fault, then charging me to have the car towed back to them to give them a second chance, then admitting being as much in the dark as I was as to what was wrong with it, I took it out before they did some real damage.

Really angry with them.

Davie was my first port of call.  He told me to take it to klassics in Coatbridge as they had the diagnostics machine and would be able to help and they are pretty good with diesels.  But the car died the death as I was about to take it out.

Spoke to a family member who could get me a discount at Fairbairns.  I thought that taking it to a main dealer would be better and with the discount I would benefit.  Wish I had taken Davies advice now TBH.  Live and learn

Car should be back with me today or tomorrow.  Injector failure caused the problem.

Does Davie not have diagnostic kit then?

Injector that's about £300?  Ouch

Cheers Muppet.  Ill keep this in mind.

Should have the car back this week.  All 4 injectors were gubbed apparently.  One went after the other.  And the BMW garage never picked up on it.

Also had some great customer service (oooh the sarcasm) from a company who cant even spell the BMW garages name
