At last we are back on with the Airboxs, if anyone remembers we started these 2 years ago and they have been on hold ever since but now there nearly done, would there be interest in a cheap airbox in black gel coat needing paint 48mm bodies at around £250 plus £50 for a snorkel ????? if so i will carry on again

1st pic of the idea here

Oops i went and got an E36 !

trackm3,

has it been tested and compared to say, a carbon airbox?

how long are you talking about to actually start selling them?

It will be tested in a week or so, i can only do a comparision as to fitment etc as it will be fitted to a car that currently has a Markus carbon box, i will not do any dyno runs etc but we will check the mapping back to back ?

Thermic conductivity! i would guess that carbon will perform better than the plastic gel coat??

this could be something that i would be interested in, although i am considering the rongineer kit to go with a uni q chip. Just thought id ask the question!

I seriously don't think that any air in any airbox stays there long enough to be worried about temperature.
One thing I noticed with the OEM aluminium plenum, it was always stone cold when popping the bonnet after coming into the pit lane on a track day.

The GRP box might sound a little different. but who knows without testing one.

Would be pretty easy to get a CF airbox equipped car and swop over for testing.
