I am new to computer forums, these machines drive me mad, it may be something to with age, I've retired. Am looking for a rear bumper for my 86 E23. Are there any other E23 owners around Doncaster, Sheffield area? Nigel

there are e23 owners all over but the problem is many rear bumpers have suffered from dents and rust. They can be sourced though quite easily either used or new via BMW (and may not be as expensive from them as you may think) but if used the quality is variable. Is yours damaged? Andrew |

Andrew Thanks, I have put enquiries to Linwar, Frits Bits and Verwood. Every thing takes much longer than expected. The bumper is bent in the middle, if I had access to worksop with a press it may be able to fix it. Am also looking for L/H rear light and 14 inch wheels. Nigel |

Hllo A set of 14 inch steel wheels, for a change. I have a set of full size stainless steel hub caps in quite good condition. |

Hi I have a small mountain of rear light units for the E23 7 series. The lens is available on its own or I can supply a complete unit. Let me know. Terry 1985 E23 735 |

Hello Terry Many thanks, have just got 2 lights from Frits Bits, complete units. all I needed was the L/H lens !!! On my car the L/H yellow flasher plastic was broken, MOT failure? Are you breaking E23? Nigel

I found Fritz to be rather unhelpful. i could have done a single lens for £10 including P&P. Not breaking an E23 but have broken 5 - 6 for spares for my own, hence the mountain of spares. So if you need any little thing try bigtelbmw735@btinternet.com and i will see what I can do. |

Have i done the right thing. I have had 2 E3 2500, cheap, simple and easy to fix apart from the body. It appears the E23 monstrously complicated when compared with E3!!!. Now the electric widows do't work, sun roof is ok. The fuse is ok, could it be the rely? which one is it? Thanks

The E23 was light years ahead of its time, hence the high price when introduced. If its the rear windows only, there is a lock out switch left hand side under the dash. its to stop the kids throwing themselves out. There is no relay listed (strange) for the wipers but the same fuse covers the power seats if fitted. |

Hi It must be fuse 26. Even if not blown it could be just poor contact through old age. |

agree with Tel. Is the switch under the dash (on the trim) on or
off as this controls the windows? |

although BMW charge for these don't discount the dealer
when the odd part is needed, quite a few times they have been cheaper than the inferior spares places such as GSF etc. I don't understand why the rear windows down't work now the rear light has been removed? I don't think they're part of the circuit?? The wheels I have are rusty and tyres poor so yopu're better off looking on ebay for anyone breaking an e23. |
