hi ok today i was driving the bmw a wee bit hard and the exhaust went loud like a blowing sound. i then drove slower and it was normal again then i drove hard again and no blowing sound!!

also there is a burning smell from the car then it goes away!

i think the cat is going because it makes funny sounds sometimes.

could this be the cat burning and making the blowing sound when at high rev's?

like i said it only blows somtimes. there is no holes etc because i looked

also where is the best place to get a nice system from?

thanks

I remember having a similar complaint, I found that the corner’s had blown around the cat, I "quick" fixed with that hardening exhaust putty until I found a new system, but on a 318is there’s loads of places, try Euro car parts, I know there’s one in Glasgow, not sure about where in Edinburgh mate.

Depends how much you wanna spend mate.... you can get new stainless systems for around about £300 give or take, OR, you could prob get a customs one made for around £200 - £250 .... Dastek are the only local ones I know of to do customs builds...

However, theres always the scrappies for a temp fix until you decide what to do, OR Black Bettys suggestion above ???

Try Scorpion in google, will give you pile of dealers, or go take a squizz through Venom Motorsport.
