This time it's for road tax. I have very little respect for cylcists. As a pedestrian: Walking 1.5 miles to work thru Glasgow city centre I have to constantly dodge them cycling towards me on the pavement, jumping red light while you are crossing on the green man and them cycling the wrong way up one way streets. As a driver: Twisty B road near where I stay has temporary traffic lights immediatley after a blind bend. Two cyclists up ahead on the approach to the bend and lights so I slow down don't overtake them, give them plenty of room on the approach to the now red light. What do they do, cycle thru the cones on the roadworks (actually thru the road works themselves) against the red light. They then give me the finger when I overtake them sounding my horn as they broke the rules. If they want to be treated with respect on the road, how about obeying the rules. Tax them to the max! |

For someone who is quite a peaceful soul at meets, cyclists don't half get you going
Rather than rant, why not join me in the city centre for a pint before your 1.5 mile walk home one day |

Looking at the link, all it takes is 7000 enthusiasts to get the tax abolished. I'm sure we could get more than 7000 enthusiasts to drive from Glasgow to Edinburgh and hey presto......no more road tax !!! I say tax the ginger bearded, cagoul wearing, bean sprout eating, light jumping, side by side cycling, jumped up, look down their nose at you, ding your door with their handlebars and blame you for parking there forkers !! Either that or just knock them off thier bike. I was tought in my cycling proficiency at primary school that the correct distance to cycle from the kerb is no more than 18 inches and only ever ONE abreast. I live just as civilisation meets the countryside and you canny move for the t**ts in the evening or weekends thus spoiling my enjoyment of full (ish) throttle and safe fun on the excellent and challenging twisty roads. I pay for the privelidge And another thing.................... |

I have even saw the police riding two a breast on a 50mph
road. Maybe its the helmet being too tight that makes their brains think that its a good idea to do that and remove all common sense, especially those who cycle on back roads during rush hours. |

Don't get me started on those scumbags! Like I've said before, it's ok in Holland where they have their own dedicated roads, but in the UK they are no different to flies or seagulls in my eyes, all equally as worthless. And there have no business on MY roads. Daz

I agree with you Andrew, they're nightmare, I had to beep the horn at two of them cycling two abreast the other day, they didn't even move when they heard me coming, then gave me the finger as I drove past!!!
Tax the lot of them!!!! |

I am of course talking tongue in cheek when I say doors, not looking to offend anybody. And certainly would not wish any harm on anybody. My brother drives/rides one of those two wheeled machines of death, really wish he wouldn't. |

As a moderator on this forum I have to have an unbiased view...
..and that is make the lot of them pay road tax and take out an insurance policy then fine them heavily or crush their bikes for going through red lights etc.. There - totally unbiased. |
