Yeh for the time being,I tend to drift back and forth
between VW & Bmw I had been looking to replace the 5'r with
an E92 but,the wheel/tyre issue with the E93 killed that
idea.

Sounds tidy enough but is the four wheel drive system front or rear torque bias?

Andrew the R36 is a 4 wheel drive 3.6 v6 VW Passat,I've
fancied one for a while and had a drive in one and thought
"why the hell not?" so last week month when the 5'r had it
latest "fit" I decided enough is enough.

To the un-educated whats a R36?

It doesn't sound rear wheel drive to me.

With regards to the alloy/tyre issue if you are a
member of BMWCC can you give Jeff a shout as we were
talking at Gaydon about this very issue and things are
moving along regards this

I've passed it all onto Vosa, like our 3 m-sport two of my
mates have similar cars with the same wheel & tyre
combination(19" m-sport rims and bridgestone rft's)and
both of theirs have the same issue with cracked wheels
and strange tyre wear.Bmw say it's impact damage and the
tyres they've passed to Bridgestone.

Muppet 2 I've got a new VW R36 on route to replace the
5'r

That's expensive rims and tyres then.  Ouch.

Sorry I'll wash my mouth out with soap for suggesting that you had a diesel!

I'm with you on the parking of diesel cars.  I told my mate that if he bought a Prius that a) he wouldn't be my mate for much longer and b)that if he did come to visit he was to park it in the next street

What is the CAS module?

Self levelling is an expensive item if it goes wrong, always has been regardless of manufacturer.

What's the issue on the E93 and what has cost you plenty on the E61?

Is it because you have an oil burning E61?

Since I've been having some pretty expensive issues with
BMW regarding wheels and tyres on the E93 and they won't
budge on their stance and the 5'r is now due changing
I've opted to change brands. Not a choice thats been easy
for me as I had my first 5'r way back in the early
80's.The E61 is no where near as good a car as the E39 in
the quality stakes.
The 5'r over the past few months has been a bit of a
money pit TBH and I'll be glad to see the back of it.

The 3 will be here for another year or so then I can see
it being changed out of the brand also.

BMW these days have changed so much and are no where near
as customer focused as they've been in the past. They need
to address this IMO or lots more loyal customers will
move on.
