Hi all, i'm new here and drive a 06 320i E90. It had (potenza) RFT's all round but now has standard (Dunlop) tyres at the rear. I was hoping this would give a smoother ride but no luck.

Has anyone ideas or tricks for a smoother ride, i.e tyre pressure,
shocks, etc.?????

Are you just running standard 16" wheels with 205/55/16 tyres and does the car have MTech suspension or just standard ?

Also, am I correct in thinking that still have RFT's on the front?  You may not see the full benefit until they are replaced too.

My first E60 had 7.5x17" rims with RFT Bridgestones.  These ran at 41 psi.  The ride was hard but not what I would call uncomfortable.  Standard suspension fitted.

My second E60 has 9x18" rims at the rear with RFT Dunlops.  These run at 36 psi.  The ride is much softer but this E60 has sports suspension.

The lower profile 18" tyres in theory should give a harder ride due to there being a shorter sidewall but they do not.  I would have thought that the sports suspension would be harder but it isn't.

I would rate the Dunlops highly although this morning I just sat and had copious amounts of wheelspin arrested by the ASC/DSC/DTC while trying to turn right under what I thought was light throttle.  Mibbe there was something on the road?
