hi guys my name is neil and im new to the bmw family i bought my first bmw a couple of months ago and im loving it! i was just wondering if anyone here could help me with a little problem when i bought the car it was owned by a mechanic and he kept getting into the car with oily overalls on and destroyed the cream leather seats i have tried almost everything i could think of and it wont come out could someone please help???? would also be interested in buying new leather seats if anyone was selling a set for a 96 e36 cheers

Welcome to the forum. Have you tired the Autoglym leather cleaner? I used that to remove black paint off my leather seats in my E39. What about Swarfega? Check for colour fastness first. |

thanks for the reply i have tried the autoglym leather cleaner and it didnt work i tried a few other cleaners but it seems the oil is well embedded into the seats i have never heard of swarfega what is it???? |

I used brake cleaner on mine (ex mechanic so same problem) available from Halfrauds in a spray can, spray onto a cloth and rub around the stain but not too hard. Try it first on a hidden part of the seat. Takes a few goes but worked for me, once the bulk of the stain was off a good helping of gliptone leather treatment. |
