Cyclists!

I'm in the car on my side of the road approaching a set of traffic lights which are at red,  I'm coasting to a stop.  A cyclist shoots out of a side road on my left, cuts in front of me so I hit the brake, hard, hit the horn and the headlights, mutter an un repeatable word for this family forum and continue to come to a stop behind a van at the lights.

Cyclist is now turned round come along side me and is hammering on my window, indicating for me to put my window down. 

I don't, and simply look ahead, wait for the lights to change and ignore him.  He is shouting that I'm a bottom hole.  I drive off.

I'm sorry but did I do something wrong? 
If I had wound down the window, I would have just got into a shouting match and that would have achieved nothing.

What should I have done?
Not sounded my horn as a warning to him as another road user that I am approaching? 
Not braked?  Nah I would have damaged my car and think of the paper work. (joke)
Called the police? 
Filmed him with my mobile phone hammering on my window?

I really, really hate cyclists who have no respect for the laws of the road with a passion.

I'll just come down off my soapbox now.

No he didn't have headphones on, he did have very bad facial hair though.

What is a cyclist?  I fail to recognise their existance until they register their vehicle, pay insurance and road tax to justify using my roads.

What should you have done?  Since it's a family forum I'll not type it.  But it rhymes with spit and bun...
