getting ready to do some hot weather vacation driving and I think I
should deal with a little but consistent leak. The car overheated awhile back but that has been dealt with ( bad plastic impeller blade water pump). Unfortunately the radiator sprung a leak underneath one of the 'bands' at the top. I used some 'stop leak' and that didn't do the trick. It's not leaking much but I'm afraid of what might happen when I take the car out for some serious hot weather driving down in the south of France. I can do the work myself but the question I guess is best way forward here: replace with a new unit? Junk yard call? BMW part? or...? 335,000K and still ticking. almost. Edited by bookerfatz |

It all depends if you are intending to keep car for a while longer. My self i would go for new radiator but they arn't cheap there is also the possibility you could get it re-cored that may be a cheaper |

I put a gsf one in a previous beemer, also an E34, I think it was around the hundred quid mark, no issues with it.

Sorry, my mistake, I didn't realise (because I didn't check) that you weren't in the UK or ROI, as most of us are. GSF is actually GFS, and their website is here : There is also Euro car parts (I've used both, I couldn't swear as to which one I bought the radiator from) http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/p/Car-Parts I have no idea if they will deal with mainland Europe (you'd guess they would), or if you have any contacts over here that could do it for you. A radiator is something I'd not buy 2nd hand, but thats only my opinion.

I agree with Nigel, brand new. You don't know what you are getting with second hand rads, it might be just as bad or close to failing so I'd get a new one with at least a years guarantee.
