I was asked by my client in Argentina to take some whiskey over for her husband. I listed a few choice malts and she replied - he likes the one called Grouse. Well I didn't know what to say except...OK, I was totally dumbfounded...I couldn't believe I was about to run the gauntlet of customs with my suitcase full of Grouse.

Ooo, one of my favourite subjects

Passed Highland Park distillery a few times in October and got a lovely whiff of Scapa while down on the beach.

I prefer the peaty malts (Lagavulin and Laphroig cask strength spring to mind) though one of my faves is Dalwhinnie

Edradour unchillfiltered was one to savour - have a bit left hidden away (don't make it anymore )

Once took my empty bottles to the local bottle bank, 2 big box fulls - got a funny look from a woman emptying a few wine bottles next to me.. A small collection we had built up over the years but didn't have the room to keep anymore.

A Balvenie Doublewood or a single cask or just a Balvenie or you could choose from the ever growing collection i have in my ever getting smaller cupboard now resorting to store on the floor in a cold place.

Last count i was at over 60 bottles so im going to be a happy man when i retire.

here's a wee selection of shops i buy from now and again the 6th one down is where i got my bottle of Glenury Royal bottled by Gordon And Macphaill and if it wasnt for the first one my cupboard would be not as full

I've only just recently got into whisky drinking after a visit to Islay for a friends wedding.  I was drinking Bruicladdich Rocks at the wedding, then just had to buy myself a bottle...as you do.....but it's nearly finished
