I'm new here and need some help. my '87 M635 goes nicely, but the ABS warning light comes on every time at 82 mph. The rotor wheels have been cleaned. Is there anything else I should look for before I start the laborious process of changing out wheel sensors?

Two possibilities come to mind.
1. The wheels are unbalanced and at speed this is affecting the pick up of the rotor by the sensor. 2. The rotors have worn down over the years and as a result they are not picked up at speed. Should only be a problem on track at 82mph! (joking) |

I had an 84 635 CSi and the metal ridges on the rotating stub became so small after 6 years and only 75K miles that I had to replace the stubs. Perhaps later cars have bidder ridges?

Could the problem on malcolmw car could be loose or rusty connection on the sender unit and vibrates with unbalanced wheel???
