Mine cracked at 30,000 miles, BMW didn't want to know! Angry

Chucked them in the loft and fitted BMWP seats.

Nothing as techie as that John. The material is fundamentally not fit for purpose. Not gutted at the mo as it's all sorted under warranty. Suspect will be v tetchy if the replacement covers go the same way tho...

I was hoping regular feeding might prolong life but have had no joy identifying a product recommended for use on this material.

Workshop staff pointed out that recurrence wasn't covered by any warranty which kind of implies it's expected to happen again. I gather others who have suffered have had pro-trimmers replace with decent leather to prevent recurrence.

That's not what you'd expect from a two year old car Dunc!
And certainly not what you'd expect from a two year old BMW.

I'm guessing the possibility of this happening in another few years is likely as the material will be the same. Will regular feeding prolong the life?
Good news your getting yours replaced under warranty.

Stuck a wee post up in the wilderness that is the 1 Series forum - http://www.bavarian-board.co.uk/forum_posts.asp?TID=49943&PID=455225񯈹

Sensatec material on 123d cracked after only 27,500 miles. Fortunately the nice people at Calterdon agreed that it was a warranty issue.

Suspect anyone who has a recent model with non-leather interior may want to keep an eye out for the issue.
