Good lad.. but not a Glenfiddich - at least make it a proper malt! |

What would sir recommend? I've been trying plenty many but the Glenfiddich range just appeals to me and most places stock it. Got a Bowmore in the cupboard alongside a Single Cask 1982 Mortlach. Been through Balvenie, Dalwhinnie, Cragganmore, Talisker, Glenkinchie, Bruichladdich, Lagavulin, Laphroaig, Maccallan, Ardbeg, Glenmorangie and prolly a fair few others I can't remember. The only one I didn't take to was a 10yr Old Antiquary which was hideous. |

12 yr old Balvenie DoubleWood is a tasty tipple. Haven't yet worked out the law of diminishing returns as regards whisky's age. i.e. is a 25 yr old appreciable better to a whisky noob like me? |

Having tried younger Balvenie's.. I would say that without a doubt a 25 McCallan (c.2000) was the nicest single I've tasted, bar none to date. |
