i am jumking the car as it is too old and creaky to keep on the road. and i wouldnt trust that it will be safe anymore. 

anyone know which lamp is compatable with the power to the HID ballast as i want to part out the headlights myself before ringing to scrap dealer.

I think you may be onto plums here.  The headlight kits are very different between Xenons and standard 12V bulbs.  All the wiring to the lights in the car is different for each type of light.
Be exclusive and drive a Petrol 5 Series!
