The weather did not match our mood yesterday.
My afternoon off, sun shining , decided to take the Blue Bucket out for a nice run and on startup the low coolant warning light came on! header tank almost empty!
Called my friend who works for BMW that evening and on removal of the undertray he spotted the coolant coming from the water pump, which it appears to be a complex piece of plastic which looks a B*"^*^D to get at.
Thank god we  took out the monthly rolling BMW warranty (not cheap) when we got the car!
Hopefully this will be fixed before Beamish although it is fortunate that it reared its ugly head now rather than next week.
My Other Car is a SKODA.. really !

Shouldn't be too bad to sort.

What engine is in the car?  Access can vary depending on the engine, the water pump and thermostat housings are easy enough to get to on the older blocks (M52, M54) once you take the thermo viscous fan out the way first.

Don't drive the car with a coolant leak, you'll overheat it, cook it, warp the head and then its only fit for making baked bean cans out off.

If its under warranty then that's a result, just get the garage to pick the car up or get it towed to them.
Be exclusive and drive a Petrol 5 Series!

Car is a E93 335i. Pump is a bit of plastic and is electric. Have to take it in to Dundee and it should be ok for 14 miles. I will take a box if matches in case it seizes!
