Can you guys who visited this establishment earlier in the year tell me if it's only automatic transmissions that they rebuild.
My steering box is possessed and I have read that new boxes are no longer available so I have only one route to take, a rebuild. Through another forum I have found Holman Engineering Co. Ltd who have successfully rebuilt another box for an M5 recently but they're based in Surrey. If needs be and it has to go there then so be it but a thought crossed my mind that may be Mackie's do similar work also. any help folks would be gratefully appreciated |

Maybe Robin can help with this as his taxi uses a steering box. There may be someone on his taxi forum that can recommend a refurbisher.

Stevie, they will fix manual boxes too, and 4 wheel drive transfer boxes and and and.
Its worth phoning them to find out, they are really helpful and friendly. Been there twice now. 0141 778 4545.

Unfortunately most of the steering boxes are sent down to England most garages up here are just fitters and not proper mechanics anymore!
Ill ask around if you want mate!

I'm more than likely ready to go through Holman as I know they have successfully re-built one for an M5 and the owner is very pleased with the results.
My mate had his for his 525 sport re-built through euro car parts so that could be another option |
