318ti Compact ( '98 1.9 16v, 28k miles )

I have noticed that my car is particularly sluggish as it is warming up, why ?

1   they all do this, don't try and push it until it is warm you merciless swine !

2  I have only had it 3 months or so and I am not certain about the oil that is in it, but that will be changed shortly at a service, it might be too high a viscousity oil for the recent cold snap ?

3  The engine management system keeps the power low until it is warm ?

4  Something else ?

Possibly 1 and 2!

Keep under 3k rpm anyway and not WOT until the engine is warm.

Also check for minor vacuum leaks in and around the inlet manifold.
