I have a complete cylinder head here for a 635CSi - well, it's the '358' casting which BMW used on everything from the 2.5 upwards. Perfect condition with a very quiet camshaft, no valve stem oil seal problems. Ready to bolt on as it is .....£100.
As Horsey will tell you, this is a very cheap way out of head and cam troubles!

Y e e e s s s . . .

...and if I'd known you'd had one spare at the time my head was being done, I'd have been up your place quicker than a sick joke about Morecambe Bay...

As it was, I bought a brand new head casting from Motormec for £250, reduced from £750 (or so Andy tells me!)

This head would be perfect for a pre 1986 car with the push on rotor arm as opposed to the later type with the three awkward allen bolts. If you're quick (i,e less than a week) you can hear the engine running. She's a sweet one.

Me too!

Took the head off the car today, still very clean inside the cam cover. To be honest £100 is too cheap. You can't even buy a cam for that never mid the rest of it!

I have another 358 casting from a 528i, not cracked or corroded but no rockers or shafts. A couple of crisp twenties........
