I have also posted same question in North West section.

I am looking for a garage to service my E34 Touring and MOT it when it is due.

I am in Keighley, West Yorkshire.

I am looking at Bradford/Leeds, Burnley, Halifax, then if I have to, other areas within the three counties.

Any pointers/recommendations much appreciated.

Damian.

Try posting in 5 series tech. Not much activity in here usually.
P.S try to be quiet on your way out so as not to wake anyone. (heaven forbid!)

Try Boundary Garage, Burnley Road, Rossendale, 01706 215588. They break BMWs and understand the older ones so well that they can often make a diagnosis over the phone, quoting a price for the repair. Their labour rate is about £30 an hour and because they see E34s and E30s all the time the hour is efficiently used, too.

Alternatively, BMW Care in Pudsey, Leeds. Ask for Richard on 0113 2566999. Have not tried them but they score well in Unixnerd's Good Garages guide.

Finally, I have had a very good experience with my local dealer, Williams of Rochdale, under the BMW Four Plus scheme. Dealers vary, though. Best of luck.

I second Williams of Rochdale - very good for a dealer.
When I don't want to use a BMW dealer, I use Elland Tyre and Exhaust in Elland near Halifax. Used them for all my firms cars and trucks for 20 years without a complaint. They are familiar with sixes as at least three go there (and thats not including my two). 01422 375 917

After further experience with three E30s...

No. 1 has to be B&M Care (formerly BMW-Care) in Pudsey. Contact Richard - see my post above. Could this be the best BMW specialist in the north? Uses genuine BMW parts and BMW-trained technicians in a large, well-equipped workshop. Courtesy cars £5 a day. Labour rate roughly half that of a dealer.

No. 2 is Williams of Rochdale, which is very good for a dealer, as Howard says.

Treat Boundary Garage with caution. I have had some very good experiences with them but also a bad one (overcharging, reluctance to answer letters or return phone calls despite a good relationship in the past, etc).
