Marc

The easiest way to change them (presuming the 735 is similar to the 535) is to remove the bumper, plug up the connector block (this is a 2 valve block that joins the bumper to the water supply, if you dont water will go everywhere) Pull the hose off the back of the washer jet from behind and then unscrew the locking ring, remove the assembly and replace.

I would advise resting the bumper on cloths to save scratching it and also to soak up any water that has escaped. I have removed my bumpers off mine on my own but its better with another pair of hands.

hope this helps

Hi thanks for the response..the washer unit has actually lost one of its nozzles...reading the E38.org site it seems that this is quite common...so water somes out but with only one nozzle to direct it. I's not the end of the world but it would be nice to fix. The e38 site repsonses suggest that the bumper has to come off !!!

More info required.....

What exactly is not working? Do you think you need the full squirter unit, or just the Jet-nipples off the end?

If no water, it is likely that the pipe (It's a surprisingly large diameter) within the bumper has come off the squirter unit underneath.  I had mine in bits last year (On a 5 series..but probably the same fitting).  In the end, I did not take the unit off the bumper, because I was worried about scratching the bumper/unit.  I managed to dismantle the jets off it, and blast it clear of gunge with a hosepipe.

Hi, this should be an easy one for somebody to answer.....

How do you fit a new headlamp washer onto the front bumper on a 735 Sport (1999)

Thanks.
