Yeah, I Checked all the Fuses and Relays, The RAC man did too.

I think the problem may have been my stupid friend connecting the jump leads the wrong way round. BMW dealer tells me these computers can be sensitive to power surges etc. I'd get him to pay for it but he's poorer than I am!!

I'm beginning to loose faith in the car now, I spent £3900 on it (don't say it, I know thats silly money) and have since spent over £1300 in a year keeping it running. I've now spent the last of my money putting a Performance Cylinder Head on it and I can't afford the insurance. I'm thinking it's time to cut my losses and get rid of it.

Any offers??

Sounds strange that it would go just like that if it worked well before, but if you go to a breaker make sure you get one from a car of the same year and ignition  type even if you can just sort him out some cash to borrow it try it in yours and then if that doesn't fix it then saves you spending out on a new one. Have you made sure the relay for the ecu is working correctly? mine went couple of days ago after i knocked it with a spanner car wouldn't start.

After reassembling my engine with it's lovely new polished and ported cylinder head, I attempted starting it. No luck, Engine turns over but won't fire, I checked all the normal things, (Timing, Spark, Coil, Fuel Pressure, Fuses and Relays.) Finally figured it's probably the Bosch Injector controller under the dash above the glovebox. RAC man put a meter over the injectors and they have power supply but are not firing.

My questions are:-

1.  Does anyone know a place I can get the box checked (without the car being attached to it)?

2.  If I pick up a replacement from a scrapyard/dismantler, will it work in my car (or are they mapped to the specifics of my car)?

the reason I ask is BMW want £250 for the box and £90 to have it programmed to my car.

Any Ideas anyone?  I'm getting kind of stressed with the thing now, (And my wallets getting thinner!)
