OK so, after hopefully contributing my 2 Euros' worth to a good deal of technical questions, I've finally got one of my own for you to solve.
My 1983 635CSi has, for all of its life in my hands, used either ATE or Textar brake pads all round. I have noticed that both makes are particularly prone to generating large amounts of dark grey dust. This dust coats the front wheels especially and is the proverbial pain to clean off. I can only manage perhaps two journeys (average 14 miles each) before cleaning becomes necessary. So, does anyone know of any alternative brake pads which are at least up to the braking standard of ATE / Textar, but which will not throw out such vast quantities of crud? |

I think there has been a very similar post on the M power forum and the consensus seemed to be to go for a pagid pad which would also improve brake performance. However it would also slightly increase disc wear, but on a six, discs are so cheap i don't suppose this is a problem.

Thanks!
So far, the replacement pad candidate list has the following: Axxis/PBR Metalmaster Deluxe (can't find any UK stockists of these pads) EBC Greenstuff (normal use) or Redstuff (quicker wafting) ...errrrr, that's it. |
