Are any other members travelling down to this weekender or are you all holding off to the official Knockhill BMW track day later this year?

The reason for cancellation was that we could not risk Knockhill's costs not being covered - this would have resulted in either folk being out-of-pocket or the club having to subsidise the event.

I'm not sure why folk weren't keen. Some feedback suggests that the time of year gave concerns regarding the weather which I accept - but this was the ONLY date Knockhill could give us and we've been asking since June 2003!

Stephen,

I'll be up for that. Seeing as I only live half an hour away, its ideal for me.

What about the rest o' ya? Another opp to meet up, and somewhere different no less.

Baz

no, not camping this time, last knockhill hot-hatch weekender i went to many years ago it was was raining at night- visions of Glastonbury with all the mud!  woke up late with half the tent blown away and lying in a pool of beer that had came from the tin id thought id "put down for safe keeping" and drink in the morning... happy days, so we the three of us are repeating the experience but without the tent and the burnt offerings from my portable barbecue   - yeah i know thats part of the fun, but im getting soft in my old age!

im trying to drum up interest on the www.e36coupe.com forums but its sadly lacking, but hopefully should be a good event if the weather holds up, if it all goes ****-up at least theres Moffat the week after :D

Well that was quite a good show, seemed to be more folk there on Sunday and there was a little bit of sun to brighten up the day

Here are some photos:

erm....

a shameless plug.... (well my car had to get featured somewhere!)

For those of you who were there on Sunday to watch the drifting competition, imo that Nissan 200SX did far better than Charlie Shaw in his Escort Cossie on the dry track.  I thought it was a competition between the "amateurs" as to who got closest to the Shaw-ster in ability?  :?

theres should be some more photos to come (better than than the ones i took, im no David Bailey when it comes to photography!)

they had the practice runs/knockout on saturday for the drifting competition, they had xr4x4s, a couple of scooby-doos (seem to understeer for Scotland but maybe that's just the way they were driven), a volvo  don't ask me what kind, it was from the traditional Built & Styled Like a Brick ****house (tm) school of design, and a guy with an imported nissan 350z (numberplate "ND 02 SPD" - gotta love that  ) - he got it stuck in the grass on saturday and broke it on sunday  , a bit like Mr. Shaw (after his run on Sunday there was a lot of smoke pouring out of those Cossie bonnet vents.....  )

On the subject of ICE, there was a Citreon C2 VTR (www.free-flow.com) that had one-helluva install, feel the noize of Mr. Bong.... discreet and relatively stealthy, but what power it kicked out.

I never heard the "Casper" E36 BMW, so I can't compare levels of deafness,  I did ask the owner what the maximum output was, but he just replied "it's 3:45PM"

Fear not Dunc.. we'll come up with a new master plan for 2005, which I propose involved attending other events as a group.. such as the Croft BDD, Crail, KH track nights, Modello Park, Rockingam M Power day etc etc... happy to lend my support. Rgds Jon

I'm also keen we organise oursellves for 'Ring and Le Mans trips for next year...
