Hot air when Air Con on Cold

   Hello to you all,
I have a 1999 T 728i Auto (E38) very recently the Air Con starter to vent Hot air to the screen and feet, when its set to the coldest setting???
I have the climate option, so either side can be different temps, the passenger side is OK, but my side is affected.
The only temporary work-around is to has the air con on fully cold and only blowing at my face by manually pushing the relevant little button.
Has any one else had this issue? If so is it easy/quick/cheap to fix by a main dealer??? (probably not!)
