Hi All

A query to stimulate some thought...

I have been researching the above - I have no affiliation but wondered how Blackcircles won the privelege of being our club "official supplier".....how were they endorsed and more importantly what does the club get out of it? I may be ignorant of these previous questions but the club is the people - there doesn't appear to be any discount or reciprocal privelege..........Bait & switch tactics?

So in conclusion My Tyres appears to be far cheaper (average 10- 15% all in) and appears to have a wider range...can't vouch for the total offering as I have yet to place the order.

I'd be interested in opinions and experiences.

Regards

surely that

Never used Black circles or MY Tyres for that matter, but you would have thought that the official club supplier would offer a discount to members. Otherwise what is the incentive for us to use them?

Black Circle offer preferential rates to BMWCC members. Admittedly they're not always the cheapest, but they do come up with good offers every now and again. There customer service seems to be pretty good too.

Follow up....

They confirmed today (previous sales person denied this) that they offer 5% discount to club members.

My Tyres still roughly 10% cheaper all in - apparently they source their tyres from Europe?

-I've often used Micheldever tyres in Hampshire (whurr oi comes fram...). Not always to buy tyres from, but to use their quote (which is usually pretty competitive) as a bargaining chip with a more local supplier (sadly I don't live in hampshire any more). A lot of places will try and beat another local quote, so it is worth phoning round and trying to do a deal.

The last tyres I bought, the price went from £90 a corner to less than £70. Definitely worth a go.

cheers

Sounds like a good deal to me.I replaced my rears with Dunlop sp sport 2000 at a cost of £228 which I thought was reasonable.

Pair of Michelin TRX 220/55 VR 390 tyres found on e-Bay last week. Snapped them up for £12.50 each.

That has got to be a saving on the usual price of £180 + VAT for one tyre....

Let me think . . . . £206 for a Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 (including fitting) from e-tyres, or £171 from MyTyres (including fitting at my local tyre fitter at £5) - really difficult decision . . . not!

I think that's one of the problems.

While one place is brilliant for one user they may be terrible for others (just like insurance) - you just have to look around, every time, otherwise you might as well go down to Kwik-Fit and get robbed!
