Did not make reserve. I would have thought that £10,400 was right on the money. If these cars are worth £15-£20k (had mine valued at well over 15k)I think they are just too exspencive. I love mine but £20k will purchase a realy nice low miles 308 gtb, dry sump, fibre glass model or early M3 and a TVR..............I think the values will continue to rise due to there low mumbers made but compared to a say Porsche 911 2.7 (1972) carrera lwt they are just not different enougth from a standard 3.0 CSI to be worth big money.

If it was mine I would have let it go, seems a very fair money to the seller and the purchaser.

just my two pence worth

That car looks very nice but as we all know photos tend to flatter cars big time. If it is as nice as it looks then I think it is worth £15k plus easy. These cars are so expensive to put right and easy to get wrong while trying to put them right. A sorted car is worth big money.

Hi Rohan Murphy ,

Your right about the big money to put right. Mines chassis number 2285146 and the more I drive it the more I like it. Just cant decide weather to put thr `bat` aero kit on it or not. I got mine for a bargin price but I could have a lot more fun with £15k than I could with  a CSL, saying that I love mine and think it will be another long term ownership car.

all the best

Hello Marc Lovell!

Glad your enjoying the csl, where abouts are you based? The csl owners seem to be coming out of the woodwork this year. Any pics of your car? Our cars didnt roll out of the factory too far away from each other!

Regards

Rohan

Hi Rohan

Hope all well - did you have the bodywork/structural done?

With all these CSL owners popping up lets put our money where our mouths are......... and get togethor - I'm proposing BMW Festival on 22nd Aug.

How are you placed for this? Any others - perhaps we can arrange to meet/park at one location?

Regards

PS - Should have the re-worked head, cam etc on by then!

PPS - Bring spares..............

I'm definitely taking the M6 to Gaydon.

I've not managed to get to a Sharknose Group meeting yet so I'm looking forward to seeing some nice old coupés and their owners!

Is there an area for the coupés to park?

How about the 5th September at Brooklands Motor Museum. I am organising a big e24, E31 and E9 meeting. I want 150 cars to come down. My goal depending on how successfull this event is to have it as an anual event. Please PM for more details.
