you'll not be too fond of the induction phroar from a CSL then..

I agree, a complete waste of money, and a sure fire route to dirtying & affecting the signal on your air-mass-meter.. a direct CAI (cold air intake) is probably a better option from the likes of gruppeM for some positive hp gains at speed caused by the ram-air effect.. you're looking at maybe 2bhp at 120mph

hi i have just tryed a kn induction fillter on my 535 took it back off after weekend total waste of cash no gains that i could feel just noise and to much of it plus a slight flat spot but then you might like the sound i for one did not i did not buy my BMW to make it sound like an xr3i

It depends if you are talking about a replacement filter element which fits inside the existing air filter box or a replacement induction kit ? As far as i know a replacement filter won't give any power gains and most of the induction kits can actually reduce performance !

Does anyone out there have any experience with the above.  A colleague of mine has just fitted a K&N filter to his 2001 330Ci and he says he can feel the difference.

Questions

Do they work?

Would I notice power gain on the 286bhp or is it torque increase?

What are the downsides?  I couldn't cope with worse fuel consumption!
