ladies and gents, I have just seen an advert on TV for Stella Artois. The point of the advert was to show how some people value a glass of alchohol. The bartender in the advert would rather give up the life of another person and hand him over to the enemy than spill some Lager.
What has the world come too?
I will be on the the phone to the advertising standard authority as soon as they answer the phone. I urge ALL members to do the same.

I think maybe you are taking it a little too seriously?!

Unfortunately that advert is a reflection of life. People did sell out others for less than a pint of lager, and in some countries still do exactly that.
Yes, it is uncomfortable to see, but then some parts of life can be uncomfortable to live. We often cocoon ourselves away from such harsh realities, the advert just brings home what most of us would rather not see.
Its clever use of advertising, albeit uncomfortable to some.

Never thought of the advert in that way! To be honest I tend to hit the mute button when they come on anyway. Nice lager though!!

For me it's seeing companies like McDonalds sponsoring events like the Olympics that makes the blood boil, did they get confused with the 'celebrity fat club' deal or something?
Seeing that inane clown lampooning events for which the athletes have trained to the point of near perfection.... grrhh.
What's next 100m sprint brought to you by Nandralone?
(oh sorry that was last time)

The world is a tragedy to those who feel, but a comedy to those who think.

talking about adverts, I can't make sense of the latest drink driving campaign with the couple of lads in the pub seeing some dame and next thing she rockets back as if being hit by something hard (presumably a car) - I don't see the connection - either i'm thick or I can't see the wood for the trees, probably trying to read too between the lines, please explain!
