Topic: E34 woes - Locked out! Help! Posted: 07-August-2004 at 16:57 |
My '90 535 has locked me out. It started playing up yesterday when the alarm set but didn't trigger the central locking. Now it's sat there on my drive looking cross, and i can't get into it at all. The keys both fit and will turn to lock, unlock and deadlock, but the door pins stay where they are and it won't unlock at all. I can open the boot manually and that's it. The alarm sets and unsets on the remote, but as before, no C/L.
it's the newer type alarm with the radio remote and total closure sytem.
I'm baffled and more to the point i can't get in my car. Can you help?

Have you tried the emergeny unlock procedure ?, put the key in the drivers door lock and hold the door handle up, you should then be able to turn the key past the normal unlock position to the emergeny unlock position.

Result! I can get in the driver's side. Thanks.
All the other doors are deadlocked though. I can't find a fuse for the C/L system, is there anything else that I could look at for possible faults?

I have just checked in the Bentley manual and the central locking is controlled by the General Module and also the Relay module, both are under the rear seat :
