Chris You've got a lovely looking car there, I'm a sucker for Dakar Yellow my mates got an M3 in that colour and I drool everytime I see it. Hi hi Stevie cheers for the response ma Might actually take all the ACS stuff off and sell them privately If the dealer i sell it to gaves me the same trade in price with/without the parts i will take them off...... I will be selling it in June-ish time when I finsih University so much coursework; I'm thinking of a Golf anniversary version or a Honda Civic Type-R to name a few.... I feel like a change now from the bemmer....... PS; I was checking out the post you have to copy the link and paste it manually on the web address to see it...... Sweet car. When you mention the M3 GTR lower brace - is that also known as the cross-brace - OEM equipment on M3 Cabriolets? If so, did you notice any differences with it? -------------

hi hi webdunk I'm sorrieee can't help you out here because I fitted the lower cross brace with the top ACS top brace and Eibach adjustable anti-roll bars all three together at once..... All I can say is the guy who fitted the stuff does alot of racing and re-builds alot of high performance cars and said the lower cross brace in his opinon more affective than the ACS one on the top. After the three things were fitted together the car handled alot tighter with less body roll and more feeling on whats happening with the black stuff.....But also fitting also this stuff plus the lowering springs the car is harder to know where its limit is; compared to before it was really predictable PS; Wedunk if you are fitting the X-brace you neeed some special tools to fit it successfull i think theres a few nice write up on it on the net....(take it easy with the fitting I've heard some dreadfull stories of it being fitted!!!) cYa Chrisss ------------- Chris Lau |

Chris, Just a wee note about the Type-R mate, fore warned is fore armed etc.. I bought one for my wife for a birthday present when they first came out (2001)(managed to get a cancelled order). Very fast car, great handling etc.. everything a hot hatch should be. Assembled by bakers or butchers though, never made in a car factory! It was an absolute joke, a nightmare! Kept finding screws and little plastic covers in the footwells. Glad to see the back of it now. Scariest part is though, we'd park it in the drive, and on occassions we found it at the bottom of the drive! Yes, we really really did apply the handbrake, garage looked at it on a number of times (it required 14 clicks to put the handbrake on very securely). The straw that broke our backs was when it rolled down the drive and crashed into a pallet of monoblocks we were about to get laid. Complaints fell on deaf ears, Honda couldn't care less, fixed it and traded it in on her birthday for another new car last december. Last point, the dash is made of the hardest, easiest to scratch plastic in the world. Oh, and up until we got rid of ours, you were stuck with the standard honda radio. The slot is a funny shape and there was no adaptor plate available. Sorry to be the prophet of doom. GTi anniversary though, mmmmmm, thats sounds a much better prospect. Cheers! Chris Golfs are now for Grandads and hairdressers, 10 years ago they were fun cars but they're now too long in the tooth, too soft, too heavy, too slow, too common stevie
