Spent 4.5 hours applying Zymol to my car at the weekend. It's a long process but worth it.Started by washing and drying the car.Followed that by applying the Zymol HD Cleanse which removed any residues and stuck on grime leaving a real nice surface for the final step,The Zymol wax.
Takes quite a while to do but worth it I think.
What do you think??? http://www.bmwcarclubireland.com/gallery/thumbnails.php?album=41 - Zymol pics

This is top stuff Richie,

I use it on my E36 M3 Convertible and it comes up really good. I have been using it for a year now and it has helped me win the concours at Gaydon in Elite Class.

Tristan

p.s the car looks great

Eh let me think about that one......No thanks. One 4.5hr session is enough for me.Arms were hanging off by the end of it and to top it off it was one of the hottest days this year.

Very nice results!  Mine was very lucky to get a hose and a bucket of soap over it this weekend!
I'm tempted to try a few of the McGuires products which I found stocked locally.  They're the right side of 150 Euro for me!!

We'll definitely be able to spot you on the roads with that gleam!

Don't worry Graham, the shine should be gone within a few days.Surely there's rain comin. What Meguiars stuff you tryin. Is it NXT stuff?

Posted By: Graham G
Date Posted: 06-September-2004 at 12:33
Well they only had the "Deep Crystal" range - Step 1-4 etc.  But may be take an order for the NXT range.
There is an Irish website opening soon for Meguiars so some online purchases may be possible then.
I wouldn't mind trying the Scratch-X to see if it works.

As ever, finding a weekend is the problem and then hoping the weather won't let you down is a lottery!

Bl00dy cats are a pain, especially when they decide to stretch their claws on your bonnet.Try leaving a samll bowl of whiskas with some poison in it beside your car. They're bound to have a bite before gettin some kip on your car.

I ahve just joined the club just before Gaydon Zymol is a very good product but the Miracle detailer at Gaydon informed me that P20 is as good so i bought some and sure enough it is at a third of the price

When I get the time I use Swissol, have found it very good.

Is there much work involved in the p20 and Swissol compared to Zymol? I'm interested to see how long the finish lasts with twice a week washing.

I have a problem with my cat at the moment.  Will waxing get rid of it or do I need to get a big dog?

waxing cats is not recommended and the choice of dog is extremely important (pit bull or similar).

It may be easier in the long run to get yourself a gun (AK47 or similar) which will require much less care than aformentioned dog. However, do not use gun to treat the problem if the problem is sitting on your car.

Richie,
After washing the car & drying I use Klasse sealant, then apply Swissol. Comes up very well.

I read in one of the BM mags that swissol is great for use on alloys, helping prevent build up of brake dust etc. any thoughts on that Mr. vader as i see you have some rather nice chrome jobbies on your machine?

true but to avoid scratches you need to hold the cat firmly in a vice - [to be really awful put some mustard on its bum ]

Robbie,
I don’t put Swissol of my wheels, I use ordinary Turtle Wax.

Would this solve Toxic's problem with his CAT, using turtle wax?

Killian's measures seem a bit drastic, I know you could get a license for a dog, but I'd say the ould Garda woulld choke on his donut if you went in looking for a license for an AK47

Oh now i see, i've read the article properly this time i knew i rec'ed the swissol name. The stuff i'm on about is called autobahn wheel wax and is made by swissol, apparently its heat resistant and repels salt and other nasties from attacking your rims with its carnauba PTFE coating........ oooooh very impressive indeed.

By the way i've been washing my car with Zip wax by the turtle, and i have to say it does a good job but will invest in some zymol or similar shortly.

Garda woulld choke on his donut if you went in looking for a license for an AK47

Thats providing you can find one thats not hiding in the bushes with a hairdryer on some country lane

Killian,
I find it works well, brake dust, etc just washes off.
Can also help with tar on the rims.

True, but it's either the donut shop, or the central reservation of a motorway, I've yet to see one with a hairdryer on a crap road or accident black spot. Easy Money 35 in a 30, 43 in a 40, etc

Instead of Turtle wax maybe the answer is using the cat to wax the wheels??

Unless the cat puts a turtles head on the bonnet and then you definately use the bugger to wipe it off

All the cats around me are too lardy, could do with a scrawny one to get in between the spokes on the alloys.....
