A reminder to all that 'The True North East' meeting is held on the first Wednesday of every month at Seaton Burn Holiday Inn (just north of Newcastle) at 2000 hrs. Attendances are usually in the region of about 25 - but there's always room for more!

Hi Grahame. We were getting about 25 a couple of months ago, although if everyone turns up there'll be about 35. Over the summer, attendances have dipped slightly, probably as a result of holidays etc. As far as the cars go we regularly get a couple of E28s (including a rare Hartge model with 320k miles on the clock), through E24s, E30s, E34s, E39 M5 and a couple of E46s - then theres a couple of 2002s which are kept for fair weather days. Its all models really (apart from an E38!).

Sorry to hear the news.

I've got a couple of events planned for the NE before the end of the year - including a trip to the Total BMW event at Donington. Once the details are finalised I'll post them on here.

Love the car grahame, test drove a 740i a while back, boston green, black leather 18" Alpinas... ran beutifully gorgeouse car, very clean... no log book..

bye bye..

got a compact now, and happy with it

plus had no room realy for a car that long..

I seem to be adding new things daily!!! I never knew there was so much for an E38! You usually see stuff for the 3 series or 5 series etc. So far....

- 18" FoxPro RS3's with BMW locking dust caps

- BMW wheel centres (thanks to Nigel Marston)

- Clear indicators all round

- Tinted windows by Custom Tint in Gateshead

- Custom made carpet mat set

- Chrome mirrors

- Chrome Grill

- New Black and graphite style Bonnet and Boot badges

Who knows what's next!!

Got to agree with Rhys, Grahame. Your car really does look good. There's a guy at the club got a thing about e38s and he's dying to see it.

Ace film, shame they dont take anoraks like us into consideration, the ones who sit there and say "that had cross-spokes on it and now there turbines" or "if thats an M5 then where`s the badge from the clocks gone?" ect. my wife hates me for saying things every time we sit down to watch a film!!

Hi Jonny,

If you come north on the A1 past the Metro Centre and Gosforth, take the turning for Seaton Burn, Tyne Tunnel, Cramlington etc. As the slip road comes over the A1 you'll come to a roundabout. Take the first left here and the turning for the Holiday Inn's a couple of hundred yards on the right. When you go in the front door, turn right and we're usually sitting there.

Hope you can make it.

I'll bring it no problem. It's actually escaped from the car park at work for a wash so it'll be nice and clean for Wednesday. Don't know if you ever saw the before and after pics on e30zone, but I've just got some more 'before' pics. I'll bring them along too on Wednesday.

My flight gets in at 21.30pm so by the time I get my bags etc It's going to be getting on a bit.... not to mention the fact that I am in a taxi (Car at Addingtons until Thursday - Forgot about that!) I may have to give it a miss tomorrow mate...

birtley...i only live in washington. there is a car park as it is a holiday inn hotel where we meet, we just sit in the lounge/bar area just inside the front door, its on the right hand side as you go in the door.

don't worry about it being full of junk...i'm not bothered, just wondered what a RHD m3 was like in the flesh, if you decide not to take it then don't worry its not a big deal.

Hi Mark, the carpark's always full. There's been one or two on about wanting to change the venue recently because of it. We're trying to arrange our first AGM for the March meeting and this is something that could be discussed.

I'll try to be there tomorrow for that time, but the Baur still needs a good wash.

i will try and get there asap but it might be tight for time as i have college tomorrow till about 6 (hopefully can get out earlier) and have to move a double bed downstairs, and then get showered and get somthing to eat. but i will try so we can park the e30's together
