my mates already got hella angel eyes for the main lamps and as you say the fogs look realy cool.  would be sweet to have them top and bottom.

i've seen the kits you can buy to make them up yourself but i'm not too sure how well they'd come out.

How much are the kits and where have you seen them?

If they are not too expensive it might be worth a try just to see.

you can get them off e-bay for about £20.  one seller on there does them ready done for the e34 an e32 not sure how much though. it's a section within an advert for his main light unit angel eyes.

that's ok coupe king, everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I've also seen them on eBay usually for about £50.00 spoke to him about doing them for my E28 and was quoted £70. Decided not to bother, concentrating on engine - Still overheating after replacing viscous fan, but does cool down a hell of a lot quicker with new one on and now has an oil leak from sump gasket!!

sorry no pic yet mell.  i'll have a look to see if i can find one.

e28silver528i - you say your motor is still overheating after changing the viscous fan, have you checked for signs of blown head gasket?  it may have gone even if there's no water in the oil and vise versa as overheating is another clue.

as for the fogs £70 quids not too bad though like you say more important to have the engine sorted first.

535i Sport,

Yes I have and not sure, but when it does overheat I can press on the top and bottom hoses and squeeze them in but am going to change them as top has a slight crack and bottom one doesn't look much better. Got them at home but when I had the expansion tank cap off when I changed engine, it was splashing out, so it may be on the way out. There is no mayonnaise on the oil filler cap.

Just checked the oil filler cap again this morning and just found the dreaded grey mayonnaise  looks like she will now be off the road for a month or two. I see though that Motormec have got a couple of sets for £5.50 and have e-mailed them to see if they still have them.

5-00pm - Just got back from trip round the Norfolk coast and found no mayonnaise on filler cap - so a bit unsure as to whether the head gasket has gone or not. Will be keeping a very close eye on coolant etc and see what happens.

got me a bit stumped there then.  could it be an air lock?  if it's boiling out over the top of the header tank it could be.  but if it was you'd hear a popping or pinging noise in the hoses.

let us know how you get on.

Me as well, will be replacing the hoses in the next couple of weeks, I may not have bled the system properly. The viscous fan definately needed replacing as the bi-metallic strip was missing. Hope I can get her sorted

535i Sport,

Spent a lot of time, sweat and tears on her, took the expansion tank cap off yesterday, and no splashing so looks like no more air locks. Will attempt to bleed it when I change the pipes and coolant!
