Can anyone recommend a dashkit supplier for a kit for a '96 840 Ci (right-hand drive, manual). There are no suppliers here in NZ, but I've accessed many websites offering this product, but would like some guidance as to what is best. |

hi you can still get bmw oem wood kits but wood looks a tad dodgy in a E1 IMO....i've seen aftermarket kits in brushed Aluminium and carbon fibre eg http://www.autodash.com/details.lasso?sn=113&pn=840 - http://www.autodash.com/details.lasso?sn=113&pn=840 ...but they are all in LHD and auto, also the stick on based kits can look a bit cheap after a while and there's often gaps around the centre console. are you looking for carbon, brushed Al or wood, stick on kit, or proper moldings? ian

Haven't decided between carbon fibre or brushed aluminium, but most likely carbon fibre. Take your point about fit and finish of stick-ons, are there any recommended retailers for moulded kits? Your advice appreciated.

Good luck. Out of curiosity how do you find getting parts locally? Lately I have been getting parts from motorforce.co.uk in South Shields sent down. Ian

Motorforce are pretty reasonable too. Met the guys at a show. Good bunch.

Hi Phil, Yeah Dave there has been really helpful in getting me parts. He also gave VAT back to me after their account depts accidently charged me for it. No way I'm paying tax for you guys too! Ian |
