I had to move my car a couple of feet last weekend, and rather than
switching off after 5 seconds I let the engine run for about a minute, to avoid leaving it flooded. It idled fine at 500rpm. Just for fun, I leaned on the loud pedal a bit, taking the revs up to about 1500 - 2000rpm. It was then that I noticed an intermittant vibration through the car, lasting about one full second, and repeating after a full second each time. It disappeared at idle again. Is this a V8 characterisitc, or a symptom of something expensive? The engine was cold, and there is nothing noticeable when driving. Thanks. ------------- Richard. sounds like a bit of a misfire to me, i would take it for a spin and see if it still does it afterwards!! -------------

Well I've been driving normally since then, including the odd thrash, and

| It's probably the engine rocking on the mounts.I'm assuming it's a vibration you just feel rather than one you can hear too? |

Yes, just a mild thrummm through the steering wheel.

| Unless some knows better I would say it's just the torque of the engine rocking it when you blip the loud pedal.Pop the bonnet and do it and you'll see the lump moving. |
